I have a brilliant new idea for a magazine proposal that will go by the name of "Hollywood Buzz". This is a quarterly magazine that will be printed and sent to cities all over the world on the 25th of January, April, August, and December. This magazine will Cover all the information about the latest movies coming out and the specifics on them. We will be competing with magazines that are out there already such as "Entertainment Weekly," and "Movieinsider.com" which is an online publication, however these are no issue. We will, by only publishing four times a year, be able to get in depth information, interviews, and ratings that will far exceed any other publications. We will focus on the movie itself rather than the scandals and actors which willl make the credibility of our movie coverage excellent. I pride myself on the idea that we obtain insider information and get such detailed facts about the movies themselves, that people will again become interested in the actual movie rather than what scandal the actor or actress was apart of last week. We put the idea out to investors and many are already on board. Because we plan to reach out to a demographic that spans from 18 to 40 and because we will cover all movies from independent films to big productions we reach a demographic of men, woman, and hit every genre of movie lovers out there. This brought in Orval Reddenbacher popcorn, Reeses,Snickers, and Butterfinger, as well as Honda and Nike in as investers. Some other potential advertisers are companies like Century theatres, Dell computers, Rossos's Furniture, and Sony. Our team of designers has created the front cover of our first issue and we think it is perfect. We are covering the new "Casino 2" movie which is our main story and thus placed the star of it Robert De Niro on the front. We also have information on a movie that James Cameron is producing and is projected to come out Fall 2013. This Should draw in readers of all ages and we made the headlines different colors to draw the eye of people and get them to pick up the magazine, once they do we know they won't put it down! We also placed the headline about the remake of Goodfellas in 3D which we wfeel will appeal to an older audience who can relate to the original goodfellas and get them to experience the 3D technology of today which will bring them back to read our magazine and find out about future movies in 3D. Those are three of our main articles but two more articles in there that will bring in readers is the new Disney movie with Justin Bieber as a guest star called "Anythings Possible" that will bring in parents with younger kids to get them into the pages of our publication and take them to the theatres to see the movie. Finally a fifth major story we are covering is the new 3D action movie called "Bombs over Iraq: The True Story" which has many intense interviews with the stars and even pictures from the making of the movie. We feel this will reach out to the men out there and woman who love action and the portrayal of danger in movies. I feel this is a great opportunity to be involved in the next great magazine and I hope you all will be a part of what's going to be a long and amazing ride.Saturday, January 29, 2011

Three books that affected me
One book that affected me in a positive way was a book i read when i was just starting highschool called "When the Game Stands Tall". This book talked about a certain team from Concord, California and what they did to ensure they would win every game. It made me want to workout as hard as all of them and it showed me that persistant hard work pays off. It helped motivate me on days when i didn't want to lift or run and i think of that book on days when i need motivation. Here is the link to this book on Amazon, When the Game Stands Tall .
Another book that has had a big impact on my life is the book "Arnold: Education of a bodybuilder". This book taught me a lot about what i know about lifting and was handed down to me from my dad who also studied it. It is what helps guide all of my training and direct me in the methods of my training style. Here is a link to what i conscider the lifting bible .
The most important and influental book however in my life is The Holy Bible. I am love religion and religion is a very important and big part of my life. I attended a Catholic high school ( St. Francis Mountain View ) and studied religion there everyday. I have a great appreciation for the bible and it helps direct me in my life and i often look to the bible for guidence and advice. Here is a link that will guide you to what guides me Bible.

Media Impact
I found one case online that talked about a kid from stockton who ended up killing his brother by shooting him and said it was because he was acting out a violent video game. They started relaying the message in the media that games were with violence were the cause of this boys death and were why a family lost one of its younger members. the link to read this full story ishttp://articles.sfgate.com/2002-01-14/technology/17524417_1_video-games-gaming-community-gamer where all of the information is available. I feel that in this case blame was most definately not all on the game industry, because at twelve years old you are fully capable to know the consequences and what could happen by pretending to shoot and kill someone. It was the parents fauly for having that weapon availble enough for the kid to reach it, and it was also the childs fault for pulling the trigger of a real weapon. The game may have been what enticed the child to pretend to shoot someone, but the parents were not supervising the kids and it was the kid who killed his brother not the game.

My Media Autobiography
In my life media is a very useful tool in many aspects and is something in which i am very tied to. I use media such as tv and radio to help me relax and is something that i enjoy viewing in my downtime. I greatly enjoy watching shows such as East Dound and Down, King of Queens, Sports Nation, Around the Horn, Surviving the Cut, and The Office. I also love to watch sports more than anything especially baseball and the Sf Giants. This is one of the reasons i took this class, i am a liberal arts major at De Anza but when i transfer i will be switching my major to Communications which i hope will be a huge help in letting me be a sports broadcaster. I often listen to KNBR 680 and idolize the work that F.P. Santangelo, John Miller, Duane Kuiper, and Mike krukow do on the air and wish that one day i can do something similar to their work. I use the other types of media as well, mainly the internet which aids me in class work everyday, along with its vast ability to bring up information on almost anything you can think of. I don't read many books other than ones that are necissary for school, however i do read magazines such as Muscle and fitness along with various magazines on college football. In my personal opinion there are many pros and cons of each medium and which one is the best is simply on personal preference. My favorite medium is television for the simply fact of getting live images and feeling like you're there, commentary like radio, and often times facts and information is found and displayed from the internet. All media is a intergral part of my life and is something i hope to see the ins and outs of and make my carrer path.
