Media Impact
I found one case online that talked about a kid from stockton who ended up killing his brother by shooting him and said it was because he was acting out a violent video game. They started relaying the message in the media that games were with violence were the cause of this boys death and were why a family lost one of its younger members. the link to read this full story ishttp://articles.sfgate.com/2002-01-14/technology/17524417_1_video-games-gaming-community-gamer where all of the information is available. I feel that in this case blame was most definately not all on the game industry, because at twelve years old you are fully capable to know the consequences and what could happen by pretending to shoot and kill someone. It was the parents fauly for having that weapon availble enough for the kid to reach it, and it was also the childs fault for pulling the trigger of a real weapon. The game may have been what enticed the child to pretend to shoot someone, but the parents were not supervising the kids and it was the kid who killed his brother not the game.

Good example. It's easier to blame media than parents taking responsibility for a gun and ammo in the house.
